The Texas Campus Carry Bill is Now on Hold.
http://www.statesman.com/news/texas-politics/campus-carry-gun-bill-stalls-1383477.html
To our disappointment, the TX campus carry bill has been put on hold because of 2 democrat senators Gallegos and Lucio. They backed off at the last minute and didn't allow it to be heard on the house floor. There is still a chance that the debate gets reopened but if something does come out of it it will likely be watered down BS. It's unlikely at this point that carry at any college in Texas will become legal.
Please call these senators to voice your displeasure with their decisions and to tell them that you support the bill.
Senator Mario Gallegos, Jr. at (512) 463-0346.
Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr. at (512) 463-0127.

Chicago's mayor bashes CC.
This guy has his head squarely up his ass. He is a feel good legislator, not a objective factual one. Once again the facts are on the side of gun owners. This is just another example of an idiot that likes to ignore facts. Chicago has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country and has among the highest crime rate. Explain that Daley.

Well since the ATF has not been cooperating with ongoing investigations, It has came to a subpoena.
The people who authorized Project Gunrunner need to be prosecuted. This is obviously big government running rampant trying to inflate statistics against private gun ownership. Obama needs to cooperate too, this should be a nonpartisan outrage.

Texas Campus Carry update.
http://www.ksat.com/politics/27394194/detail.html
Article is short, sweet and to the point. It gives the pro gun side and a slightly larger anti-gun side, but what do you expect it is the media and 99% of the time it is from the liberal prospective.
The bill goes on to a full senate vote. The outlook for the measure looks promising and Rick Perry promises to sign it into law if the citizens of Texas get the bill to his desk.
Contrary to what the typical media would have you believe, this will not allow college students to run rampant with guns. This simply allows those individuals that have to occupy a college campus, this means professors and staff as well, the ability to carry the gun they are ALREADY LICENSED to carry elsewhere like Walmart, the grocery store, the park and so on.
This is a great idea because we all know that by banning guns in certain places we are inviting a shooting gallery. The criminals do not give a crap what a sign or laws says, they are criminals. The left gives them too much credit.
Picture this, a psychopath decides that one day he is going to shoot up a crowd of people, he goes to his location and sees a no guns allowed sign. How many people think he will say: awe shucks I better find another crowd to shoot up? Too many! It is a stupid ideology that only makes people feel warm and comfy inside. The threat is still there.
I encourage yall to counter this utter stupidity, there should be no controversy to this bill.

There is a Radio Shack in Montana that is offering a gun for satellite service.
http://consumerist.com/2011/03/radioshack-not-exactly-thrilled-with-free-gun-giveaway-at-montana-store.html
This is kind of humorous, however I am disgusted by the corporate reaction. A single store wanted to have a promotion that involved giving away a gun. Promoting legal activity should never be condemned by a company. I support their right to do and say as they please, but it is not their place to condemn gun ownership.
It even says business has exploded in reaction to the promotion. It would be stupid for Radio Shack to make them stop.

A Chicago Piece against CC What a surprise!
http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/03/29/niu-victims-mother-speaks-out-against-concealed-weapons/
The woman in this article is speaking out against concealed carry. Of course she is wrong, the research and statistics have overwhelmingly proved that CC actually saves lives.
She at one point says: "it is like blaming the victim" when referring to the people that say that a concealed carrier can stop a massacre. Well I would argue that at least it gives the carrier an option to fight back.

More guns less crime.
http://www2.tbo.com/content/2011/mar/23/MEOPINO1-more-guns-less-crime/news-opinion-commentary/
No this is not the book by John Lott, but it is a good opinion piece on the right to bear arms.
More guns really do equal less crime, so lets make more gun owners.
People act as if the second amendment is controversial. I am here to argue that it shouldn't be, we have the facts on our side, and we have one of the world's largest lobbying forces. The best way to make people understand is to take them to the range with you. It is strange that the range changes people the way it does. I have taken 5 or 6 people, that didn't really have an opinion on guns, to the gun range and all of them have ended up gun owners themselves. I encourage all of my readers to take some friends to the gun range, it is fun and it enlarges the gun owner demographic.

Guns in Cars at Work
http://lubbockonline.com/texas/2011-03-16/senate-approves-letting-texans-keep-guns-car-work
Most working Texans spend allot of time commuting, often through very bad parts of Houston, Dallas or San Antonio. A company should not be able to tell their employee that they cant defend themselves in transit to and from work.
This is a good bill that passes the TX senate and will likely pass. It forbids employers from prohibiting guns in their parking lots secured in employee's cars.
It says in the article that business owners oppose this bill because of workplace violence. This viewpoint has already been proven false. The mere fact that the employee is in possession of a gun makes them no more likely to harm anyone, the gun doesn't change the person.
I realize that there are business owners that would support this bill as well, these I applaud. If I were in a position to hire employees I would would allow concealed carry. I would even encourage it for sales agents.

NRA Response to Obama's Call for More Gun Control
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2011/03/nra-to-president-obama-the-problem-isnt-guns-its-law-enforcement-media-and-the-mental-health-system.html
This article is written about the NRA response to Obama's call for more gun control recently. It is a well written letter that basically tells Obama that the guns are not the problem the mental health system and criminals are. The NRA proposed to Obama more strict punishments for those that do break the current laws.
The NRA also calls for an immediate end to the ATFs Mexican Gunrunner operation which let thousands of guns cross the border to make it to cartel hands. INTENTIONALLY...
Basically the NRA is addressing the issues that need to be addressed and hopefully Obama listens. More background checks are not going to matter if you constantly let violent criminals walk. They get their guns from each other.
This is the letter:
Here is the email form to contact the Obama administration. Be polite and courteous regardless of what you think of his policies. We do not want to give them more reasons to label gun owners as toothless yokels.

I urge my readers to read it and email the Obama administration to urge him to follow the direction of the NRA letter. This would be a good bipartisan solution (that could actually pass in the house) and would likely make everyone happy... Except for criminals.

A case for campus carry.
http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/03/09/bans-carrying-concealed-weapons-lifted-college-campuses/
This article is an opinion piece written by John Lott, a well known expert on firearm statistics and the author of "More Guns Less Crime", a fantastic book that I have personally read and highly recommend. The statistics in Lott's studies really are pervasive in a ton pro gun arguments today.
As always remember that the right to bear arms should not be circumstantial. It should be universal. What good is the constitutional right if they can make exceptions to the rule whenever they want? Remember that the "bad guy" doesn't care if the school bans guns if he plans on murdering people.

Open Carry in Texas.
Open Carry bill has been presented to the Texas legislature. Texas is one of the final holdouts for open carry. Sponsored by representative Lavender, the bill has been presented despite NO COOPERATION from the Texas State Rifle Association. The organization behind this that deserves all of the credit is the "Lone Star Citizens Defense League" a new organization for the restoration of 2nd amendment rights in Texas. The Reason the 2nd Amendment is Still Around.
This, in my opinion, is the most important post yet. There is a huge reason that we have not completely lost our gun rights and that is a very strong lobbying force. I highly suggest researching a state program for you to become a member of. As far as the national ones, I am aware of these two.
The NRA- The NRA is at the forefront of our fight against wrongful gun control. I have been a member of the NRA since age 18. They have publications, a political victory fund, news broadcasts and all sorts of things. They are the big mighty gun lobby that politicians are afraid of. I donate additional money to the NRA every time I feel like the anti-gunners are getting out of hand.
The GOA- Gun Owners of America is a smaller lobbying group that tends to rarely side with a democrat, even a pro gun democrat... Naturally I am also a member of GOA. They are more of a no compromise gun lobby and it becomes more evident when the NRA buddies up with the likes of Harry Reid.
I would have to say, despite a few screw ups, I find the NRA to be the more effective lobbying group, because of brute size and reach, if you only have the money to join one it is the one I would join. I STRONGLY suggest that all gun owners that love the second amendment join one or both of these lobbying groups. These groups are the only thing that stand between the politicians and our guns.
Gun owners should realize it is a constant fight to keep the second amendment. It is exactly why I started this blog.

The Obama Administration is ignoring the scandal where the ATF let thousands of guns into Mexico. This is an outrage. If you feel the same way, help gun owners by contacting your congressperson using the link on the sidebar. I would appreciate it if this agency's lies didn't get swept under the rug. Please voice your concern about the ATF making these ridiculous decisions.

GA is trying to expand right to carry to church.
There is a proposal that would allow concealed carry by license holders in churches and other places of worship. This is a great advancement for GAs gun rights. Allot of even pro gun individuals cringe when you talk about carry in a church, but it is perhaps one of the easiest places for a mass shooter to "get" as many people as they can. Lots of people in a confined place makes these locations really vulnerable. It doesn't matter that these places are filled with religious individuals that would likely never go on a rampage. Anyone can walk into a church.

Illinois Releasing a List of Gun Owners.
http://www.investors.com/NewsAndAnalysis/Article/564926/201103031851/Attention-This-House-Is-Gun-Free.htm
The Illinois attorney general wants all gun owner data to be public information. This is wrong in so many ways. I wish someone would also publish her info. This list would be similar to a sexual predator list.
This gives criminals a great list of homes that DO NOT have guns as well. Wow, now all a criminal needs to do to safely steal things is to check to see if their potential victim is on the list. Then they meet no resistance when they break in.
I would argue that this does more harm to non gun owners than gun owners. However gun ownership is no ones business but their own. What's next? Financial or medical records?

NC: 2 Pending Pro-Gun Bills!
http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2011/03/04/2109036/bills-would-allow-guns-in-parks.html
NC has 2 pending pro-gun bills. One if passed will allow guns in parks and restaurants. The other will decriminalize locking your firearm in your vehicle while at work. Not much to comment on here except to contact your representatives and show your support for the bill's passage. Being able to defend oneself is neither circumstantial nor locational.

Wyoming Passes Permitless Carry!!
http://trib.com/news/state-and-regional/govt-and-politics/article_7827c1d4-c2b5-5789-886b-93691bd90c6d.html
Wyoming's governor signed permitless carry into law, making it the 4th state to do so. This is a great move for the protection of the citizens of the state. These laws typically say, if you are legally allowed to own the gun and you are not involved in anything illegal you can carry your firearm as it is your property.
The licensing process has a big flaw. Only people that care about the law are going to get licenses, leaving the criminals to carry as they please. Many people in my home state of Texas would carry their firearms if not for the hassle (10hr class) and expense (about $300 when its all said and done) of a licensing process. Licensing leaves these law abiding people unarmed unless they are at home.

Arizona Leading the Pro Gun Rights Movement Again with AZ SB 1201.
This bill looks like a fantastic law! Arizona is leading the pack.

I like the fact that it would establish a liability against the government agency for disarming a lawful individual, but the mere fact that it allows a citizen to take an elected official's car kind of pushes it into left field. I am highly interested to see where this one goes.

Palm Beach Florida Trying to Pass City Ordinances Against the Right to Carry and "High Capacity Magazines"
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/palm-beach/fl-ammo-ban-palm-20110301,0,5240615.story
The city of Palm Beach launched a crusade against constitutional rights when they considered this ordinance. It is absurd to me why people have blatant fact available to them and they choose to ignore it. There is not a single statistic that says concealed carry is a harm to society.
Bills like this are a huge double standard; they will allow police to keep their hi-cap magazines, but they proclaim over and over again threat hi-cap magazines are made for senseless killing. If they have no defense purpose why do police officers still get to carry them.
I strongly urge my readers to flood the City of Palm Beach with polite emails suggesting against this ordinance. Also urge the Florida legislature to pass the previously addressed law restricting municipal officials from being able to ignore state law.
You can use this tool to contact almost any rep; local, state or national. I am going to put it on the side bar for future reference. http://nra.capwiz.com/nra/dbq/officials/

Nevada Bill: Right to Privacy for Concealed Carry Permit Holders.
http://www.mohavedailynews.com/articles/2011/03/01/news/state/doc4d6c7e6ac7a7e014328030.txt
There is a bill in Nevada that makes concealed carry licensing data confidential. This reminds me of the "whospackinginny" site where they out concealed carry permit holders and their addresses. I believe it was removed.
This would be a huge and dangerous breach of privacy. Any criminal that would want a free gun could break down your door when you leave and take them. They would know you have at least one gun.
It looks like this bill has pretty good support.

Concealed Carry in Illinois!
http://www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/metro/illinois-concealed-carry-weapons-guns-ban-bill-law-gun-20110228
This article talks about how Illinois may be getting "shall-issue" concealed carry soon. This means that the state must issue you a permit if you are eligible to get one. IL is one of the last to the party, being potentially the 49th state to allow concealed carry.
There were comments from opponents in the article preaching "guns on the street" well he needs to look at some statistics. Concealed carry does not make more guns available, it simply allows the lawful owner of a firearm to seek a license and carry HIS OR HER PROPERTY on their person. No criminal will seek a license because they don't care that it is illegal to carry.
I personally believe licensing is a infringement of second amendment rights, however this is a step in the right direction for Illinois with some of the most draconian gun laws on the books.

Florida doing some work for gun rights!
I found an article that talks about three bills in Florida to help preserve their citizen's 2nd amendment rights.
The first bill provides a way in which public officials can be punished for violating state firearm pre-emption law. It is pretty cool. It basically unifies the Florida gun rights so no local government can change them around.
The second bill was previously addressed and it is the bill prohibiting doctors from asking about guns in the household. Which has nothing to do with the health of the patient.
The third bill is open carry! It will allow not only concealed carry of firearms, but also the open carry of firearms. I support the option to do this as long as the person is a good steward for the second amendment. Included in this bill is also a campus carry provision.

Lots of news for Monday.
In the article about the ATF and Obamaccare on the chopping block it explained how the house went after the ATF while defunding the unpopular socialized medicine bill. It says the house approved the following: an amendment to defund Obamacare for the next 6 month and an amendment blocking the ATF long gun reporting which has been previously discussed. The article went on to say that 41 senators are now in a position to either simply defund Obamacare and the ATF long gun reporting or shutting down the non-essential functions (they didn't fully explain what these are) of the Obama administration, INCLUDING THE ATF! For the sake of our gun rights I hope they choose the latter.
Permitless carry-
I support the proposed permitless carry legislation in SC. I feel that licensing to carry is an infringement of the 2nd amendment. The framers of the constitution included the 2nd amendment in order to protect Americans from a government that ignores the will of the people. It is absurd that the very institution that the 2nd amendment was designed to protect us from is regulating our 2nd amendment rights. The 2nd amendment is not about the right to plink, hunt, compete, or even to defend yourself. The 2nd amendment was designed to be the ultimate check and balance, maintaining the power of the individual citizen.
Castle Doctrine-
You wake up in the middle of the night to a loud noise in the other room. You sneak out of the bedroom to find an unauthorized person in your in your family room. Should you have a "duty to retreat" or should you be able to forceably remove them from your property. I choose the latter, this is your property! There is no reason that the law abiding, tax paying citizen should retreat and let the intruder do as they please. You don't know what the intruder is there for. It could be to steal a TV or it could be to kidnap or kill a loved one, are you willing to take that chance? If there is an intruder in an OCCUPIED home, they have no regard for the life inside. They must be dealt with immediately. The Castle Doctrine legislation does away with the duty to retreat. People should be able to stand their ground on their own property above all other locations.
The ATF has been involved in some of the "gun trafficking to Mexico"
Project Gunrunner, the program in question, apparently allowed the transfer of thousands of guns to Mexico. They did this to apparently to track where they end up. One of our own agencies is now one of the methods in which guns end up in Mexico. Of course when they collect the guns later, after they've likely killed multiple innocent citizens on both sides of the border, they will NO DOUBT be thrown into the "assault rifles from the US" statistic. Im very happy to see a possible complete defunding of this deceiving agency.
The last article from Friday was about permit holders being exempt from NICS checks.
A permit holder goes through a much more thorough background check, fingerprinting, and application process. If that individual was not allowed to buy a gun they would not be allowed to get a license in most cases. I know that in Texas this is already true. As always CHL holders are some of the most law abiding people. Their backgrounds have already been checked.
There is a new piece of national legislation that has been proposed.-
A right to carry, universal reciprocity bill is being considered. This will allow carry permit holders to carry their firearms in other states that offer a permit. There already is reciprocity between many states, but this will further broaden the amount of states that most permit holders will be allowed to carry in.

Schumer going after private sales. Drafting a bill.
They call it the "gun show loophole" but it is simply the ability to privately sell your guns. If they pass this bill, and you decide to sell a gun to your brother, dad, or friend; you would have to go to an FFL dealer to run a background check, pay for a transfer and fill out a 4473. This leaves a trace of where every firearm goes and to whom. Which is basically registration and does away with the biggest obstacle to confiscation.
As always it is allot of work to keep our gun rights, definitely make sure when this bill is presented you contact as many representatives as you can and tell them to oppose this legislation. I will keep my readers posted on the developments of this issue.

The ATF screwing with shotgun imports.
The ATF is running rampant. This is becoming ridiculous. They want to ban the import of shotguns that to them "have no sporting purposes". Of course this is ridiculous, they should only restrict the import of shotguns that would be ILLEGAL in the US. Many people choose a shotgun for home or self-defense. Why only limit us to American made brands?
I sent a simple email to their "study" on shotguns because they are apparently open to opinions. I hope they listen, as always the more contacts they receive the better. To email the ATF use this link: shotgunstudy@atf.gov
I do not believe it is necessary to deem a sporting purpose before allowing the import of a shotgun. I believe that any shotgun that would be legal in the US should be allowed to be imported. Many people use shotguns for home defense and often times foreign made guns are of higher quality. I hope for the ATF to broaden the language on sporting purpose to include instead all lawful purposes as this only seems logical.
Fla bill would ban doctors from asking about guns.
There is a bill going on in Florida right now that will prohibit doctors from asking their patients about firearms. I like this piece of legislation. Though it has never happened to me; If a doctor ever asked me or my family if they had firearms in the house I would be extremely angry. It is a total invasion of privacy and no one should ever tell their doctor that they have guns in their house nor should they have to.
This will keep guns out of the patients medical record making it impossible to use Obamacare to make a registration list; a concern of many.

Texas Campus Carry!
It is becoming more and more likely that Texas Campus Carry will pass this session. This is a great idea for the safety of college students. There are allot of anti-gun arguments that I have found and I would like to elaborate on.
It would increase crime- Guns wont lead to more crime, the location doesn't change a thing, concealed carry statistically lowers the crime rate on every historical account.
It would "distract" from the learning envionment- Concealed means out of sight. Even if the guns were in plain view if a student is distracted by it I would question his/her ability to pay attention in the first place.
More students would kill themselves- The legalization of carry for protection will not change the fact that someone can still legally obtain a gun and commit suicide.
Leave it to the police, They have training- I would argue that crossfire and accidental wounding of innocent bystanders is a problem I would rather have than not have if there were an active shooter. If the police are so quick at containing a situation, why were there so many deaths at VT, Tuscon, and Fort Hood? Police are also not the only ones that can accurately shoot a gun. Many CHL holders have excellent shooting technique. Even if the person carrying isn't a good shot I would be glad to have a gun in the room on the good side of the argument.
Gun free zones are simply places where criminals know they will meet minimal resistance; shooting galleries for mass murders. The criminal doesn't care that there is a rule in place that doesn't allow handguns on campus. Criminals BY DEFINITION do not obey the law. It is sensationalized by the media that every student will have a gun and they will kill each other in arguments. This is simply not true. These would be the same people that are licensed to carry every day of their lives in Walmart, grocery store, and while walking the dog. These people do not cause problems they just realize that the world is not a perfect place. People get assaulted and some people would like the ability to fight back.
One last point I would like to make is for the people that say they would rather comply with their robbery, rape or beating, because "they probably wont kill me if I give them what they want". That would be totally up to the assailant now wouldn't it? What if what the criminal wants is... you dead?

I would like to share some great resources.
I came across this excellent article called Raging Against Self Defense. It is an article about the psychological mindset of an anti gun person. I am not going to summarize this because I HIGHLY recommend that gun rights advocates read it. Its on a Jewish site but this is a good article for everyone.
http://jpfo.org/filegen-n-z/ragingagainstselfdefense.htm
On the same site I have also found this: http://jpfo.org/pdf02/gun-facts-5.1.pdf I have not yet read it but i seems promising.
I often look at this site, It is a compiled list of anti-gun companies and public figures. About 2 years ago I decided to never spend my money at an openly Anti-Gun company, but I also tell them why they no longer have my business. I don't expect everyone to take this as far as me, but I want to provide a good resource for those that do.

I have mentioned this one before. It is a great stats page so you can get good statistics for debate.
http://www.justfacts.com/guncontrol.asp
9 myths of gun control. This is also a good read.
http://www.lizmichael.com/ninemyth.htm
I have also put many highly touted pro firearm books on the amazon banner. I have read a few of them and I am going to definitely read them all soon. I am really looking forward to "From Lubys to the Legislature".

Good news! House blocks the ATF long gun reporting procedure.
Earlier this week I addressed the multiple sales reporting rules from the ATF. They wanted to extend these reporting burdens to long guns in states along the Mexican border. This does nothing but allow back-door registration and make things harder on the FFL licensed business owner.
Well yesterday the US house passed an amendment that blocks the ability of the ATF to require the reporting of the long guns. The bill passed 277 to 149. With the support of 41 democrats! The bills's sponsor Dan Boren, a Democrat from Oklahoma, said "First, it puts an additional paperwork burden on gun dealers. Second, it creates a federal catalog of assault weapons buyers, thereby violating their privacy." Then, he said "the ATF doesn't have the legal authority to require such reporting."
This is a win for gun owners!! Not only because this unwarranted reporting is blocked, but because we actually have a large number of seemingly pro gun democrats in the House.

Luby's Shooting Survivor
I know this isn't news, but gun owners who have not seen this video yet should watch it. It is a fantastic video.
Colts worry bill will suspend stadium gun ban.
I came across this article earlier today. The Colts issued a statement that they are "concerned" that the bill mentioned in the article would allow guns in their stadium. This is no different than any other gun free zone. They disarm the peaceful public and indirectly allow criminals no resistance.
They use the excuse about drunk fans, well it is already illegal to carry a weapon while drinking. Also your state of mind will definitely be brought into question if you had to use deadly force while drinking any amount of alcohol. It is a really bad idea for a drinking person to have a gun in his or her possession. I, however do not believe you should ban guns for sober people because they are in the vicinity of drinking people. I don't even see the problem with carrying a gun in a bar, as long as you don't drink.
What about people getting assaulted on their walk back to their vehicle after NFL games? Why leave them defenseless? If the bill doesn't pass every criminal around will know for a fact that they have a nice bounty of unarmed victims to rob.
It's the rowdy drunken sports fans and the crack-head gang bangers in the parking lot you need to worry about. Not the lawful gun owner looking to preserve themselves and their family. CHL holders are statistically among the most law abiding people in the population. Concealed carry should not be banned anywhere. The concept is universal regardless of the location or circumstance. Gun free zones are good for criminals and bad for victims.

Gun lobby stands firm in opposing Obama's ATF nominee
Andrew Traver is the current head of the ATF in Chicago. Obama nominated him to the head of the entire ATF. Of course he is anti-gun like every other nomination by Obama since he was elected. The gun lobby (NRA in this case) is correct in opposing his nomination.
To give you an idea about the way Andrew Traver's tries to distort facts to the public. Here is nice a video that will piss you off.
They claim that assault rifles are:
To give you an idea about the way Andrew Traver's tries to distort facts to the public. Here is nice a video that will piss you off.
They claim that assault rifles are:
- Impossible to control- This is completely false, our soldiers effectively use these weapons every day. Traver gave the fully automatic AK to a 90 pound news anchor that had never fired a gun in her life. Of course she will spray bullets everywhere. Not only was this a lie, it was negligent in my opinion.
- Fully-Automatic- They acted as if every "assault weapon" is a machine gun. The previous ban of "assault weapons" included semi-auto PISTOLS with a magazine capacity over 10 rounds. Fully Automatic firearms have never been easy to obtain. It requires legal trusts, seemingly endless paperwork, a pre-ban automatic firearm (which will be a very large financial investment), a 4 month waiting period to get the tax stamp. You get the picture, not many people ever get to own a machine gun. The people that do are thoroughly looked at and have to drop a significant amount of money.
We really don't want this guy as the head of the ATF. The only way to stop him is in the senate. Contact your senators. Explain to them why you want them to oppose the nomination. This agency makes rules that basically become law. Gun control will be able to flow right around the house if this guy makes it.

Early this month, Michael Bloomberg the NYC Mayor, wasted $100,000 of taxpayer money on a so-called "sting" at an Arizona gun show. He was out of his jurisdiction and his actions were ridiculous. He claimed publicly that the actions of AZ citizens were illegal. However like most free states, AZ citizens are allowed to privately buy and sell firearms. He did this in order to blatantly mislead Americans.
Now his group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns is sending a panel truck with a "gun deaths" billboard on the side of it, to drive around in 25 states. You guessed it, out of his jurisdiction again.
This guy acts like he is out for public safety, but he is against the right to carry. As smart of a businessman that Bloomberg is, I can assure you he knows the facts. He just chooses to ignore them. He doesn't have the public's interest in mind, he has his own mindless gun grabbing interest in mind.
I could not dig up who actually funds Mayors Against Illegal Guns, I sure hope this isn't taxpayer funded like the sting.

ATF Reporting Rules.
The ATF over the last 2 or so months has been trying to make it harder to buy 2 rifles at once. Those of you that have purchased 2 or more handguns at a time have experienced the multiple firearm reporting documentation. These documents contain the make and serial numbers of your purchased firearms as well as your name. This document gets sent off to the local police chief (or some other deemed government official appointed by the ATF) for review. The chief gets to keep that file. I know for a fact that it never comes back to the FFL. This raises concerns about backdoor registration attempts with these documents by anti-gun police chiefs. Lets not let them do this to rifles as well.
This is an Agency rule for FFL holders. This means rather than courts determining if it is constitutional, you must contact them in the alloted time period to voice your concerns. If they don't listen, an interest group will be able to appeal within the agency, then it will make it to the court system (some day). All taking a huge amount of time the rule will already be in place and hard to repeal.
When you give up a freedom it is extremely hard to get it back. It is important to contact the ATF and voice your concerns. It is also a good idea to know who your police chiefs are and research what their stances are on citizen ownership of firearms. Another good thing to know is who, exactly, your FFL dealer will be sending the form to, because sometimes the ATF picks someone besides the chief.
So far this has been put on hold. I hope to see this garbage fade away. It will need lots of opposition. A private FFL holding documentation on your firearm purchases is one thing, a government entity holding that information is something much more intrusive. In my opinion a very slippery slope.

Firearm safety for kids.
All to often, in my opinion parents shed negative light on firearms to their children at an early age. I would like to share with you the way my father taught me. I really respect the way he did this. The biggest reason for anti-gun people is a backwards knowledge of guns from a young age.
My dad started me out on a BB pistol when I was about 10 years old. He told me three very important rules about gun safety.
1. Always assume it is loaded.
2. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
3. Never aim the gun at anything you are not willing to destroy.
He followed this up with this comment, "when I see that you have mastered these rules I will let you shoot my real one". I was really exited about being able to shoot a real gun and worked hard to prove I could follow the rules.
A few months later my dad did let me shoot his real gun because I displayed mature handling of my BB gun, this taught me 2 things; guns are not toys, but they are not inherently evil killing machines either.

Magazine Capacity Limits
The kneejerk reaction to the shooting in Tuscon AZ is officially... Writing a bill banning magazines over the capacity of 10 rounds. The bill is worthless.
There is also allot of unconstitutional language in the bill such as the forfeit of these magazines. It is unconstitutional for the government to take your property without due process. I could see them offering $30 a magazine during confiscation.
This bill was written by Congresswoman Carolyn Mccarthy of New York's 4th district.
There is not a single gun law that would have stopped this man. Using this logic to ban magazines is absurd, there was already a law on the books making it illegal to savagely kill people and he ignored that one. Politicians need to stop trying to legislate away problems. It's even more sick that the congresswoman used this tragedy as a chance to make political gains.
With a Republican house majority this bill will likely never see the light of day as it will need some Republican support to pass through the house. However I encourage you to contact your representatives and strongly suggest to oppose this bill. They do actually take these comments into account so you wont be wasting your time.
Hope you liked the first post.
What is Pro Gun News?
I am starting this blog because as a patron of firearm news I was sick of searching out multiple sources. I want to know what is currently going on with firearm legislation and how it will affect my 2nd Amendment Rights.
In this blog I will compile and comment on firearm topics including: legislation, commentary from politicians, pending bills, safety, and other news. The goal is to inform my fellow gun owners on pending legislation and give the means in which to effectively debate the topic. I want gun owners to be extremely well informed.
I am very passionate about firearms and remain very informed. I will pass this information on to the readers of this blog rather than keep it to myself. I am going to post short and sweet news-briefs that are quick to read and hit the facts.
Subscribe to hear more. I will post multiple times a week.
